Privacy policy
How your personal information is collected, used, and protected.

This policy explains how Megan Brown, Chartered Accountant ("I", "me", "my") handles your personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. It applies to this website and to booking a consultation.
What I collect
When you book a consultation or send an enquiry, I collect:
- Your name — to identify and address you.
- Your email address — to confirm and manage your appointment, and to reply.
- Your phone number (optional) — to reach you if needed.
- Notes you provide — to understand what you'd like to discuss.
- Appointment details — the service, date and time you choose.
I don't collect payment details through this website, and I don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Why I collect it
Your information is used only to arrange and manage your appointment, to send confirmations and reminders, to respond to your enquiry, and to provide the accounting services you ask for. I won't use it for anything else without your consent.
Who it's shared with
I keep your information confidential and don't sell it. To run this website and send emails, a small number of trusted service providers process data on my behalf:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and the database that stores your booking.
- Resend — sending confirmation, reminder and cancellation emails.
These providers act only on my instructions. I may also disclose information where required by law or by my professional obligations.
How long it's kept
Booking records are retained only as long as needed for the service and to meet legal and professional record-keeping requirements, then securely deleted. Enquiries that don't lead to engagement are removed once they're no longer needed.
How it's protected
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access controls. The link to manage your booking uses a private, randomly generated token — please keep it to yourself.
Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you and request corrections. You can also cancel a booking using the link in your confirmation email. To make a request, email megan@meganbrownca.nz.
